the region & sightseeing
the valle aurina is the most nothern and one of the biggest valleys of south tyrol. the size of the valley is 629 km² and it includes the communities of predoi, campo tures and gais. campo tures with 5000 inhabitants and the great castle is the centre of the valle aurina. there are 4 villages that belong to the community of campo tures: acereto, riva di tures, molini e caminata.
in the centre of campo tures there is much to do and to see: different concerts, the famous triatlon "puschtraman", the special event „Strassenküche - kitchen in the street“ which takes place in july and august (restaurants present their specialities).
surrounded by 80 summits over 3.000 meter this valley is definitely a paradise for trekking and hiking. although the proximity to glaciers the climate is still mild and agreeable thanks to the alps. furthermore, the valle aurina is the home of the famous alpinist hans kammerlander. he started here to discover and to love the mountains. today, he also offers private trekking tours in the tauferer ahrntal.

• museum of mining in ca di pietra (valle aurina)
• „live“ mining in predoi (at the end of the valle aurina)

• nationalpark rieserferner-ahr (trekking paradise)

winter:
skiing & snowboarding: the ski season starts on the 5th of December 2009
both ski resorts “speikboden” and “klausberg” are ideal for skiing and snowboarding and they are very close to the residence feldmühle. speikboden is only 1km away and klausberg only 7km away. the big advantage: with one and the same skipass you can ski on both resorts.
“speikboden” has 6 skilifts and the highest lift goes up to 2.400m. the panorama is really great. there is also a snowpark for freestyle fans. also for kids there is a new lift which is called the „mini wonder carpet“. klausberg has also 6 skilifts and the highest goes up to 2.510m. both ski resort have wonderful alpine huts where they serve local food and drinks.
a free shuttle bus takes you to both ski resorts daily. (bus stop two minutes from our residence). here you can find our offers for the skipass.
only 15km away from the residence feldmühle there is the number 1 ski resort of south tyrol „kronplatz“ with 85 km of pists and 32 very modern lifts. an excellent skiing experience.
public busses take you there (30 minutes bus ride) or we can organise a taxi for you.
we really recommend you to go to the dolomites for one day. it is around 50km away from us. transfers can be organised. the famous sella ronda is very special and it is a must do for skiers. the length of the ski circuit, lifts and pists, is around 40km and it is an easy route to ski along. in june 2009 the dolomites were announced to be unesco world heritage. excellent news.
cross-country skiing:
for those, who prefer to enjoy winter on two extremely narrow skies. cross-country skiing on 80 km of well-prepared trails - for beginners and advanced skiers, between 900 and 1,600 metres above sea level.

trail “valle aurina“: this trail is easy and is great of beginners. parallel to the main street this trail takes you through the valley until the village st. jakob (gasthaus garber)

dolomiti nordic ski:
„dolomiti nordicski" (dns): europes biggest cross-country skiing- area with
1.000 km of trails, accessable with only one ski-pass.

osttirol, comelico - sappada, cortina d'ampezzo, auronzo - misurina -
